Description

This dataset contains speed and lateral position data of micromobility users while negotiating horizontal curves with a radius of 5 m and different deflection angles. Data were collected on a 200-m-long test track consisting of a dedicated bike lane.

For each user and curve, speed and lateral position were recorded at five characteristic points along the curve:

  • Point of Curvature (PC);
  • Intermediate Point 1 (INT1);
  • Midpoint (MP);
  • Intermediate Point 2 (INT2); and
  • Point of Tangency (PT).

Each user completed five individual observations. A repeatability analysis was conducted to select the most representative observation for each user. Repeatability was quantified using the user-specific repeatability ratio (Ratio_u), defined as the ratio between intra-user and inter-user variability.

The deflection angle of each curve is as follows:

  • Curve 1: 90°
  • Curve 2: 45°
  • Curve 3: 30°
  • Curve 4: 75°
  • Curve 5: 105°
  • Curve 6: 30°
  • Curve 7: 60°
  • Curve 8: 75°

The dataset includes the following variables:

  • Type of user (ToU): bicycle or scooter.
  • Direction of turn (ToC): right or left.
  • Curve ID: curve identifier (1–8).
  • Gender: male or female.
  • Ratio: user-specific repeatability ratio (Ratio_u), defined as the ratio between intra-user and inter-user variability.
  • Repeatability method: method used to select the representative observation (mean, median, or closest_to_centroid).
  • Measure: variable reported, where V represents speed (km/h) and d represents lateral position (cm).
