Yorùbá Literary Publications from Ilorin, Ibadan, and Lagos

This dataset brings together a collection of Yorùbá literary texts sourced from long-established local bookshops in Ilorin, Ibadan, and Lagos, Nigeria. The materials include short stories, novels, novellas, drama, and ewì(Yorùbá poetry), and were collected and documented by Lawal Mustapha Mohammed. The dataset provides metadata for these materials, including titles, authors, publication dates, publishers, literary forms, OCLC/WorldCat information where available, library locations, and information on how to access digital or virtual versions of the texts where available. The physical copies were purchased and donated to the University of Ilorin Library, Kwara State University of Education Library, and Kwara State Library to help ensure their continued accessibility within Nigeria. The dataset currently includes publications dating from 1964 onward and will continue to be expanded as additional relevant materials are identified.
