Building agricultural drone digital twins with Eclipse Basyx

This presentation explores the development of agricultural drone digital twins using Eclipse BaSyx and the Asset Administration Shell (AAS) model. It demonstrates how standardised data structures, interoperable interfaces, and reusable templates can be applied beyond manufacturing to support agricultural applications. The SPADE platform enables the modelling, customisation, management, and deployment of drone digital twins through flexible data structures, MinIO storage, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes-based services. The approach provides a scalable foundation for integrating new templates, data sources, and drone-related applications in smart agriculture.
