FOCCUS WP7 D7.1 - Section 6 - GCOAST-GB/BS - E-HYPE outputs to position on model grid and SCHISM file format.

Description

Overview:
This Zenodo item contains the workflow to go from developments in FOCCUS WP4/5 to the application demonstrators developed within FOCCUS WP8/9.

This workflow converts the native E-HYPE format by:
1. Discharge outlet locations are placed in the correct location on the SCHISM (GCOAST-GB/GCOAST-BS) grid, using depth and distance thresholding in combination with a graphical user selections, and converts to the SCHISM native file formats flux.th as welle as the source/sinks.

It supports Application 1.1.1 & 2.1.3 by transforming EHYPE date into .tim and .pli files (river discharge formats in Delft3D-FM) suitable for use within the application. The workflow provides a reproducible processing chain that enables the integration of research developments into an operational modelling and assessment framework.

The workflow includes the  deocumented script to reproduce the processing steps, it further requires the SCHISM utilties available under  BenjaminJacob86/schism-hereon-utilities: A set of codes to prepare inputs and work with the outputs of the SCHISM model

 Inputs:

E-HYPE 4.3.2 data (10.5281/zenodo.17975393)
SCHISM grid (hgrid.gr3 and hgrid.ll)
SCHISM boundary definition file (bctides.in)

Outputs used i2 application(s):

Application 1.2.3: Applications prototype: ESC1 - 1.2.2 - German Bight Erosion Assessment (10.5281/zenodo.22812551)
Application 1.2.3: Applications prototype: ESC1 - 1.2.3 - Western Black Sea Erosion Assessment (10.5281/zenodo.17279499)
