Re-Livestock Tool: A Digital Framework for Farm-Level Sustainability & Resilience Assessment
Authors/Creators
Description
Livestock farming systems across Europe face the dual imperative of mitigating greenhouse gas emissions while adapting to escalating climate pressures. Evaluating innovations—such as novel breeding, circular feeding, and regenerative agroforestry—requires comprehensive, holistic farm-level sustainability data. However, multi-criteria on-farm assessments often impose severe data burdens on farmers and researchers, leading to fragmented metrics and low adoption. This poster describes work carried out within the ReLivestock project to overcome this barrier, to harmonise data collection across diverse European livestock systems. The work transformed an established sustainability framework into an accessible, open-source online platform that serves both local co-learning and cross-consortium modelling.
