Description

The insomnia-psyctr database 📊

The insomnia-psyctr database is part of the meta-analytic research domain (MARD) within the Metapsy project. It contains randomized controlled trials comparing psychological treatments with control conditions in adults with chronic insomnia.

Psychological treatments include cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) and its components, grouped as CBT-I (cbt), behavioural therapy (bt), cognitive or third-wave therapy (ct), and relaxation (re), in any delivery format. Control conditions are waitlist (wl), no treatment (nt), placebo or attention control (plb), and psychoeducation or sleep hygiene education (pe). Outcomes are insomnia severity (e.g. ISI, PSQI) at post-treatment and long-term follow-up (3 to 12 months), sleep diary parameters (sleep efficiency, total sleep time, sleep onset latency, wake after sleep onset), and remission.

The data are derived from the living systematic review "Psychotherapies for chronic insomnia" (SLEEPI database; last search: 2025-03-12), which is updated yearly. The structure of this dataset follows the Metapsy data standard.
