The launch of the PLATO mission, expected in early 2027, is now looming very near. The stellar science community plays a critical role in the preparation of the mission, and will be equally central in the exploitation of the data that it will provide. The PLATO Stellar Science Conference 2026 is part of a series of meetings meant to bring together the community as a whole, to ensure that we have all the tools in hand to optimise the scientific return of the PLATO mission, and exploit its data to its fullest potential. This edition took place in the University of Liège, August 24 to 26, 2026, and gathered some 100 participants. Being the last PLATO Stellar Science Conference before launch, coming at an exciting time for the mission, this meeting benefited from all ideas that the community has to offer, and especially from the experience gathered thanks to CoRoT, Kepler, and TESS. Key topics discussed included:

  • Stellar science goals within reach thanks to PLATO;
  • Advances in the precise and accurate characterisation of stars, as well as their internal properties;
  • Recent improvements in the physical description of the stellar models (transport processes, chemical abundances, ...) thanks to which PLATO data will be exploited;
  • State of the art of data analysis techniques for PLATO, whether it be for asteroseismology or long-term variability of stellar light curves;
  • Synergies with galactic archaeology, exoplanet characterisation, large spectroscopic surveys, etc.;
  • And more!

The present community gathers the slides that the speakers used to back up their oral contributions to the conference.
