ICON v2025-04-2 Patch: for handling vertical interpolation in init of two-moment cloud microphysics

Patch Content

The patch allows to initialize ICON version v2025.04-2 with full cloud microphysical information from the two-moment microphysics when running in vertical interpolation mode, i.e.  imode=7  

Requirement: Init files need to include these additional variables.

Patch Extraction

1. get correct ICON version

git clone git@gitlab.dkrz.de:icon/icon-model.git --branch release-2025.04-public --recurse-submodules

2. download patch
wget -O icon-2025.04-2-patch_two-mom-muphys_for_imode7.patch "https://zenodo.org/records/18387047/files/icon-2025.04-2-patch_two-mom-muphys_for_imode7.patch?download=1"

3. apply patch

cd icon-model
git apply ../icon-2025.04-2-patch_two-mom-muphys_for_imode7.patch --whitespace=nowarn

4. build and compile
./config/dkrz/levante.intel
make -j16

git diff  release-icon-2025.04-2...ifces2-feature-imode7-with-microphysics > ../icon-2025.04-2-patch_two-mom-muphys_for_imode7.patch
