NFDI4ING is the National Research Data Infrastructure for the Engineering Sciences.
To educate Research Data Management (RDM), NFDI4ING's archetype Fiona conducts a summer school as practice-oriented training. Following the slogan "Driving RDM", a small-scale data-driven engineering experiment is conducted to theoretically learn and practically apply RDM. Clamping blocks, gears and measurement technology in your pocket are leveraged.

This publication record contains the RDM Career Paths and FAIR4Studium module. It introduces professional roles and career opportunities in research data management, including Data Stewards, Data Curators, and Research Software Engineers. The accompanying exercises address practical RDM skills such as file organization, naming conventions, version control, backups, responsible data sharing, and literate programming, including the ROOT principles for resilient digital technologies.
